CLIFF FALL MADE 'GROUND SHAKE' AT BEACH IN DEVON

A cliff fall has closed a private holiday park beach in Devon.

Ladram Bay was closed on Sunday after it experienced a "significant cliff fall" at 07:15 BST, Ladram Bay Holiday Park said.

The park said it had been monitoring the cliff for several months, and that nobody was hurt when part of the cliff fell.

It said the beach would remain closed for about a week, and that it would await guidance from geological experts.

'The ground shook'

Will Tottle, assistant general manager, said the team felt "blessed that it happened at such a time as it did".

He said: "It was a shock, car alarms went off and the ground actually shook - the day before we were blessed with a beautiful spring day, the beach was busy and we'd be faced with a very different news story.

"It's such a substantial amount of rock, we're very fortunate - we're trying to focus on restoring the beach."
