OCEAN INFINITY HAS SUBMITTED NEW MH370 SEARCH PLAN, SAYS FAMILIES’ GROUP

PETALING JAYA: US deep-sea survey firm Ocean Infinity presented its new search proposal for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 on a “no find no fee” basis to transport minister Loke Siew Fook on Thursday, a families’ group said.

According to a post on the Facebook page of the Association for Families of the Passengers and Crew on board MH370, the presentation was well received by Loke and his team.

“We wait for the required paperwork to be sorted out and a new contract is inked. MH370 families would like to extend our appreciation to all concerned,” the association said.

In March, Loke said he would meet with Ocean Infinity early this month to discuss the possibility of resuming the search for MH370.

“After hearing their presentation, we will need to prepare papers for the Cabinet’s approval to establish a commitment (with Ocean Infinity to resume the search),” he said.

MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board, while on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China.
